“In New England, wholesale power costs soared 83%, to $137/MWh, in the first three months this year compared with $75/MWh in the same period last year.”– www.utilitydive.com – May 13, 2022
“AES Ohio supply charges to rise from 4.8 cents to 10.9 cents per kWh/” – www.whiotv.com
First it was the push for companies to become energy efficient because it was the “environmentally responsible” thing to do. Today it has mostly pivoted to being the “FINANCIALLY responsible” thing to do.
Most bill departments for venues, resorts, hotels, etc. aren’t aware that within their energy bills is a number assigned to their monthly bill known as a “Power Factor Rating.”
Power Factor is defined as: “the ratio of the actual electrical power dissipated by an AC circuit to the product of the r.m.s. values of current and voltage. The difference between the two is caused by reactance in the circuit and represents power that does no useful work.” In other words, Power Factor tells you how much energy is brought onto your premise that is wasted; the lower the rating the more energy (AND financial resources) you are wasting.

Energy Efficiency Group is NOT a power broker that controls your charge per kWh. They install a patented capacitor system customized for your setting that regulates the amount of energy that passes through your system and significantly cuts down on wasted energy which, in turn, lowers the monthly energy bill. The more moving parts that operate off of your power meter the more likely they can help; facilities such as:
- Arcades (dozens of visual and lighting components)
- Buildings with kitchens
- Buildings with multiple HVAC / fan units
- Warehouses
- Machine Shops
- Etc.
All they need is one (maybe two) energy bills to make a determination.
